President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam has been indeed people’s President unlike politicians’ President when he talked so informally with the journalists by himself sitting on the floor with senior journalists chair-seated on the dais on occasion of presenting prestigious Ramnath Goenka awards for excellence in journalism. Apart from his big deeds as nation’s President, his dealing with personal staff, old friends and members of ordinary public setting aside all protocols and norms will be remembered. Otherwise even low-grade politicians feel proud in getting their feet touched by people much higher than their age. It is indeed misfortune of this nation that politicians played dirty game in even selecting country’s President thereby denying Dr APJ Abdul Kalam second term which was important in interest of nation and its public rather than the retiring President himself!
